| One of three early factory prototypes (6 CS/1US) for the North American-market E24 M6. Though built upon a North American-spec E24 635CSi platform, this car was equipped by BMW Motorsport with a test engine (#M88/3-200), custom ECU, an M635CSi drivetrain, suspension and interior. It has also been fitted by BMW with the updated bumper design introduced on all E24s in 6/87. Owned by BMW Motorsport GmbH until 12/87, the car was then sold to a BMW dealer in southern Germany, and was eventually imported to the USA in the early 1990s, which is where it still resides. |
